Activities
Activities at Tor Royal farm are tailored to the age and ability of the group visiting and can include any of the following:-
- Arrival at farm at 10am where there is adequate parking for mini buses and cars
- Introduction and safety talk
- Meet some of the farm animals and discuss their natural habitat, behaviour, food and welfare
- Farm walk including our site of special scientific interest (SSSI) Tor Royal raised bog, Devonport leat, new deciduous tree plantation –
- Weather and group permitting we will walk up to a tor, look at the plants growing in the moorland conditions and discuss the commons of Dartmoor, the history and traditions.
- A break for lunch after which we like to include an activity, which could be feeding lambs, planting trees or simply a farm themed treasure hunt or quiz.
We are well placed to offer the John Muir award – and help with transport costs can be sourced for groups wanting to participate.
