Activities

Activities at Tor Royal farm are tailored to the age and ability of the group visiting and can include any of the following:-

Arrival at farm at 10am where there is adequate parking for mini buses and cars
Introduction and safety talk
Meet some of the farm animals and discuss their natural habitat, behaviour, food and welfare
Farm walk including our site of special scientific interest (SSSI) Tor Royal raised bog, Devonport leat, new deciduous tree plantation –
Weather and group permitting we will walk up to a tor, look at the plants growing in the moorland conditions and discuss the commons of Dartmoor, the history and traditions.
A break for lunch after which we like to include an activity, which could be feeding lambs, planting trees or simply a farm themed treasure hunt or quiz.

We are well placed to offer the John Muir award – and help with transport costs can be sourced for groups wanting to participate.
